Planning a wedding takes a great deal of time and effort, and usually cannot be done within a short span of time. However, there are exceptions to every rule, and there are some things that you can do on the fly, if you are pressed for time, or you simply want to move on to the next thing. One of the easier things that you can accomplish when planning nuptials, is that of making or at least designing wedding invitations. There are a lot of things that you can do to make them shine, whether you want simple or you want complex, there are a few tips that you can utilize when it comes time to selecting the right option for your invites.
Before we get into the tips, take a look at just how many people you’re planning on giving an invitation to. You’ll find that if you simply make a list, you will be able to move forward with the right tips and get the most out of your planning. If you do not have a set list, than you should allow for capacity, just in case you are going to have people jumping on board in the last minute and you want to ensure that they have an invite.
Once you have at least a modest size list, you will want to start looking into the style that you want to go with. One of the options that are most common is that of layered wedding invitations. This allows you to have a little bit of flare and design to your paper, and it’s not hard to do. The most basic of options has two or three pieces of paper cut and placed on top of one another, with borders and framing coming out from above and under the main backdrop. You can even purchase a kit that will help you accomplish this if you’re not sure how to do it without a little bit of assistance.
For those that aren’t necessarily looking for layered wedding invitations, the best bet is to simply go with simplicity in design. This can be as simple as purchasing card stock and then either writing them out by hand or selecting a nice calligraphy font on a computer and typing out the necessary message, then putting the card stock in the printer and going forward. This “diy” method is something that will save you money in the long term, and is meant for those that are a little more computer savvy.
No matter what you decide on, make sure that you spend a little time ahead of schedule thinking about who you’re going to invite, how many pieces you’re going to need and whether or not you’re going to do it all on your own.
